Cilla Sabo (Sweden)
I paddle for the experience of nature – to calm my senses, slow down, and take in everything it has to offer, at my own pace.
What calls me is not waves or adrenaline, but calm, mirror-like waters, archipelago-like environments, and quiet places.
Places few can reach – sometimes only by kayak. Hidden islands where I can step away from a fast-moving world.
Toward a space where I feel both grounded and free, where I find stillness and a deep, conscious presence.
It’s just me and my kayak.
It’s not just something I do – it’s my version of slow living, my way to recover.
Through my lens, I try to capture these moments – my way of translating feeling into form…
Why do you paddle the Melker Rödlöga LV?
For me, everything is connected – function and aesthetics, movement and expression.
I wanted a kayak that reflects not only how I paddle, but how I see the world – what I call “Cilland”: my own landscape, where nature and creativity meet.
The choice was natural: Melker Rödlöga.
Its presence is undeniable – refined, timeless, quietly striking.
And every time I take it out, I fall in love all over again.
Wherever I go, my Rödlöga draws attention – its beauty never goes unnoticed.
Lake Sommen – around Svalön and the archipelago-like area near Malexander.
PEZ candy, my cameras, extra wool socks (my feet get cold easily), and something to rest my kayak on when I go ashore.
Norway – the Lofoten Islands.
My homemade protein bread, snacks (cured) sausage, and tomatoes.
I found my favorite spot in the world - a tiny island.
Far from any inhabited areas, and quite a distance from the mainland.
A tiny island – a small rocky islet with a single tree in the middle.
Just enough space for me and my kayak. Nothing more.
I call it “Cilland.”
#MelkerMoment
Some of my best moments with my Melker aren’t the ones I planned — they’re the quiet crossings, the golden light, the feeling of being exactly where I’m supposed to be.
